¿Por qué no puedo abrir archivos DMG que residen en un sistema de archivos NFS de solo lectura?

Descubrí un problema extraño ... si tengo archivos de imagen de disco (DMG) que residen en un recurso compartido NFS de solo lectura, no puedo abrirlos en Mac OS X 10.7.5. Los mismos archivos se abren bien cuando se accede a través de AFP. Sin embargo, al intentar abrirlos utilizando hdiutil attach cuando están en el recurso compartido de NFS, se produce un error en "adjuntar error - sistema de archivos de solo lectura": 

bash-3.2# /usr/bin/hdiutil attach /Volumes/nfs_share/Some.dmg
hdiutil: attach failed - Read-only file system

Incluso si el recurso compartido de AFP es de solo lectura, puedo adjuntar esas mismas imágenes. Pero por alguna razón, un recurso compartido de solo lectura NFS no funciona.

En última instancia, lo que quiero hacer es adjuntar las imágenes con un archivo shadow , para montar las imágenes de solo lectura como de lectura-escritura. Pero esto también falla de la misma manera:

Nuevamente, esto funciona perfectamente si la imagen se sirve a través de AFP. También funciona bien si el recurso compartido NFS es de lectura y escritura, pero por razones de seguridad no puedo hacerlo.

¿Cómo puedo montar archivos DMG que residen en un recurso compartido NFS de solo lectura?

Me ha interesado esta pregunta desde noviembre de 2012 e incluso configuré una VM FreeNAS para reproducir el problema.

Finalmente me rendí, pero como la pregunta ha sido resucitada, compartiré lo que descubrí en ese entonces y en las últimas horas (por suerte no borré la VM) y lo que creo que es la causa de este problema. es. También he encontrado una solución.

Mi configuración

En primer lugar, esta es mi configuración de prueba:

  • OS X 10.8.2 (lo siento, no 10.7.5).

  • FreeNAS (FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p1)

Luego lo desmonté y monté el sistema de archivos NFS de solo lectura (también usé ⌘ K ) y no pude montar el archivo de imagen DMG.

Creo que el problema está registrado aquí:

Error 30 significa (ver man 2 intro ):

  

30 EROFS Sistema de archivos de solo lectura. Se intentó modificar un archivo.   o el directorio se creó en un sistema de archivos que era de solo lectura en ese momento.

No es de sorprender, es un sistema de archivos de solo lectura, pero ... cuando se monta sobre AFP, ¿por qué?

Porque la implementación NFS de Apple tiene algunos problemas con el bloqueo. Como se indica en esta publicación en gluster.org:

  

OS X hace una cantidad fenomenal de bloqueo de archivos (algunos dirían,   innecesariamente así) y siempre ha sido muy sensible a la   Configuración de bloqueo en los servidores NFS. Tanto que si tu   Escoja al azar un servidor NFS en una gran empresa, el verdadero éxito es   bastante improbable.

En mi configuración, el servidor NFS (es decir, la VM FreeNAS) fue repentinamente irresponsable (desde el /var/log/system.log de mi Mac):

La salida de sudo /usr/bin/hdiutil attach -debug /Volumes/netboot/p7zip-9.04-0.i386.dmg -notremovable -shadow /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow -owners on -noverify -noautofsck -nobrowse fue:

Error 5 significa (de nuevo de man 2 intro ):

  

5 Error de entrada / salida EIO. Algún error físico de entrada o salida   ocurrió. Este error no será reportado hasta una posterior   operación en el mismo descriptor de archivo y puede perderse (sobreescrita)   por cualquier error posterior.

Lo que no sorprende en absoluto, el sistema de archivos NFS se había ido.

Solución

Una solución alternativa (probada en OS X 10.8) es montar NFS con las opciones nolocks,locallocks . Como se explica en el post en gluster.org ya mencionado:

  

Afortunadamente, hay una solución: simplemente desactive el bloqueo de red. Tu puedes hacer   agregando las opciones "nolocks, locallocks" en las opciones avanzadas   campo de la interfaz de usuario de montaje de la utilidad de disco NFS, pero esto es doloroso si   haz un montón de ellos, y no ayuda en absoluto con / net. Puedes editar   / etc / auto_master para agregar estas opciones a la entrada / net, pero   no afecta a otros montajes, sin embargo recomiendo eliminar el   Opción hidefromfinder en auto_master. Si quieres arreglar cada   montar automáticamente, editar /etc/autofs.conf y buscar la línea que comienza   con AUTOMOUNTD_MNTOPTS =. Estas opciones se aplican en cada montaje.   Agrega nolocks, locallocks y tu mundo será más rápido y feliz después   se reinicia.

Monté manualmente 172.16.54.186:/mnt/raid/netboot y funcionó perfectamente: 

$ sudo rm /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow
$ sudo mount -o nolocks,locallocks,ro 172.16.54.186:/mnt/raid/netboot /tmp/mnt
$ sudo /usr/bin/hdiutil attach /tmp/mnt/p7zip-9.04-0.i386.dmg -notremovable -shadow /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow -owners on -noverify -noautofsck -nobrowse

También edité /etc/auto_master así:

se detuvo e inició automountd y autofsd : 

$ sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.automountd.plist 
$ sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.autofsd.plist 
$ sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.autofsd.plist 
$ sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.automountd.plist

y funcionó a la perfección: 

$ cd /net/172.16.54.186/mnt/raid/netboot
$ ls 
Network Trash Folder  Temporary Items  p7zip-9.04-0.i386.dmg
$ sudo rm /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow
$ sudo /usr/bin/hdiutil attach p7zip-9.04-0.i386.dmg -notremovable -shadow /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow -owners on -noverify -noautofsck -nobrowse

hdiutil attach -readonly ...

Para una imagen que está almacenada en un sistema de archivos de solo lectura, creo que -readonly debería usarse al momento de adjuntar.

(El caso de AFP puede ser excepcional.)

Teniendo en cuenta el voto negativo y el comentario de @Josh: no entendí la parte -shadow de la página del manual de hdiutil :

  

... permite adjuntar imágenes de solo lectura de lectura / escritura ...

- Imaginé que -shadow podría invalidar -readonly .
