brew: cómo eliminar la versión obsoleta del paquete

El comando que desea es cleanup : ejecutar brew cleanup eliminará los paquetes que están en el disco, pero que ya no están instalados.

> brew help cleanup
brew cleanup [--prune=days] [--dry-run] [-s] [formulae]:
    For all installed or specific formulae, remove any older versions from the
    cellar. In addition, old downloads from the Homebrew download-cache are deleted.

    If --prune=days is specified, remove all cache files older than days.

    If --dry-run or -n is passed, show what would be removed, but do not
    actually remove anything.

    If -s is passed, scrubs the cache, removing downloads for even the latest
    versions of formulae. Note downloads for any installed formulae will still not be
    deleted. If you want to delete those too: rm -rf $(brew --cache)

Tengo un régimen de lunes por la mañana de:

brew update
brew upgrade
brew cleanup

Eso me pone al día con Homebrew, luego todos mis brebajes instalados y luego libera espacio en el disco al eliminar los antiguos que ya no están referenciados. Para las cervezas que necesito mantener en una versión específica, uso brew pin para mantenerlas allí, así que aún puedo ejecutar esta cadena simple de tres comandos para actualizar todo lo demás en torno a los paquetes anclados.

No es una respuesta, pero es demasiado largo para un comentario, este es el código que utilizo como un régimen para mantener actualizada mi elaboración:

Lo tengo guardado en mi ~/.bash_profile para poder llamarlo desde la Terminal como el nombre de la función sobre la marcha.
