Estoy tratando de configurar OS X 10.7 Lion para que funcione como un cliente NIS / NFS pero sin demasiado éxito hasta ahora.
Configuración existente que funciona en Ubuntu

Configuración en OS X (que aún no funciona)
Intenté agregar el dominio NIS usando System Preferences > Users & Groups > Unlock > Login Options > Join... > Open Directory Utility... (sí, Apple hizo un gran trabajo al hacer que esto sea lo más difícil de acceder).
Se edita el registro NIS y se agrega el dominio NIS uk.example.com (no es lo mismo que el dominio DNS) y la dirección IP de este dominio NIS 10.80.16.129 y obviamente se verificó el Use NIS for authentication .
Reinicié pero esto no ayudó. Aún así, interesante en la pantalla de inicio de sesión había una información sobre herramientas que dice que el inicio de sesión de red no está disponible.
Inicié sesión con una cuenta de administrador, cerré la sesión pero la situación no cambió.
