Unidad de apfs externa (cifrada) dañada en High Sierra

Tengo problemas para acceder a los datos de mi disco USB externo llamado G-DRIVE USB , simplemente no se monta. Me sale el mensaje para desbloquear, lo que hago, pero no hace nada.

DiskUtility no se abre cuando esta unidad está conectada: muestra "cargando discos" y no hace nada.

Hasta ahora he intentado acceder a los datos manualmente mediante los siguientes comandos de terminal:

¿Está utilizando un adaptador para conectar el G-Drive a su MacBook Pro? Esta página de soporte indica que el Disco Duro USB 3.0 móvil G-Tech G-DRIVE no es compatible con el adaptador multipuerto AV digital USB-C o el adaptador multipuerto VGA USB-C:
